Stop-motion is an animated film technique that utilizes photos, as opposed to video footage, to create the appearance of movement. In the following sample, I used two toy boats, some iridescent tinsel paper, cotton balls, newspaper clips, and my personal business card to create the intro to my YouTube channel several years ago. In the most recent intro (not shown, but can be seen by visiting my vlog samples), I created another stop-motion animation by taking multiple photographs surrounding my tractor (it was a lot harder than it looks - the camera needed to maintain the same height & distance while circling the machine all the way around on very uneven ground).
A friend of mine, Tawd Dorenfeld, is a professional stop-motion animator. I am inspired by his work and of course, the 1964 Christmas stop motion animated television special we all know and love, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
